Vineyard grapes ready for harvest — wine filtration technology by Klarwin

Filtration

FOOD & BEVERAGE

In beverage production, filtration is not just a technological step — it is a key element defining the appearance, stability and shelf life of the final product. From the first racking to the final bottling, every filtration stage must preserve the product's character while removing unwanted particles, colloids and microorganisms that threaten quality. This applies equally to wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks, juice, water and dairy.

Klarwin integrates Pall’s complete range of beverage filtration technologies — depth filtration, lenticular clarification, crossflow membrane systems and microbiological cartridge filtration — into tailored solutions for production facilities of every scale, from boutique producers to large-volume operations.

Beverage Filtration

A complete beverage filtration process follows several essential stages — each designed to progressively remove particles, colloids, microorganisms and residual contaminants before and during bottling. Klarwin integrates all the key stages using Pall technology, adapted to the product type, production volume and quality objectives.

Coarse filtration (SUPRAdisc & SUPRApak, Pall cartridges and Seitz sheets) — removal of coarse particles, colloidal suspension and sediments that degrade visual and organoleptic quality
Fine or polishing filtration (SUPRAdisc & SUPRApak, Pall cartridges and Seitz sheets) — polishing filtration that achieves brilliant clarity while preserving varietal aromas and color stability
Microfiltration (Supor Beverage, MEMBRAcart XP, Ultipor N66 membrane cartridges) — validated removal of spoilage organisms (Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, Acetobacter) to guarantee microbiological stability
Bottling protection (Emflon sterilizing-grade air filters) & microbiological filtration of rinse water — final sterile barrier at the packaging rinse and at the filling head, ensuring no recontamination between tank and bottle

Oenoflow™ — Tangential Membrane Filtration (Crossflow)

Oenoflow is the global reference in tangential (crossflow) membrane filtration for winemaking. With over 20 years and 2,500+ installations worldwide, it has become the industry standard for wineries seeking consistent quality, lower operational costs and reduced environmental impact — replacing traditional filtration methods that depend on filter aids, earth and sheets.

Oenofil™ — Bottling Line Filtration

Oenofil is the dedicated microbiological cartridge filtration system for the last critical step before bottling — ensuring that every bottle meets the winery’s microbiological and clarity specifications. Designed as a plug-and-play solution for bottling lines, it combines Pall’s proven membrane cartridges with automated process control for maximum reliability at the point where quality is critical.

Pall Aria™ FB — Process Water Filtration

Pall Aria™ FB is a fully-automated stainless steel system designed for the stringent water requirements of food and beverage production. Robust PVDF hollow-fiber microfiltration membranes retain suspended solids and pathogenic microbes and deliver constant, high-quality water regardless of raw feed water variance — replacing sand filters and lowering overall filtration costs.
