Klarwin delivered, installed and started operating a mobile leachate treatment plant within four days.

Klarwin delivered, installed, and started operating a mobile leachate treatment plant at the Bârcea Mare Integrated Waste Management Center within just four days. This rapid deployment demonstrated Klarwin's ability to provide turnkey solutions for complex environmental challenges under tight time constraints.

The challenge

The Bârcea Mare Waste Management Center, located in Hunedoara County, faced an urgent need to treat the leachate generated by the waste deposit. Leachate — the liquid that percolates through waste and accumulates at the bottom of landfills — contains a complex mix of heavy metals, organic compounds, and other contaminants that must be treated before discharge. The existing treatment capacity was insufficient, and the center needed a rapid, reliable solution.

The solution

"We are proud to have delivered this solution in record time. The Bârcea Mare project demonstrates that advanced leachate treatment technology can be deployed quickly and effectively, even in challenging conditions. Our mobile treatment plants, built on Pall Corporation membrane technology, offer the flexibility and performance that waste management operators need," said Lucian Pavel, CEO of Klarwin.

The mobile leachate treatment plant utilizes advanced Pall Corporation ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis membrane technology, ensuring that the treated water meets all regulatory discharge standards. The containerized design allows rapid deployment to any site without permanent infrastructure modifications.
